April 21, 2025 CATL and NIO reach strategic cooperation on battery swapping
Chinese battery manufacturer CATL has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with EV manufacturer NIO to jointly build a battery swap network and promote the unification of industry technical standards.
March 2025, BYD announced a new charging system which it says can deliver 400km (250 miles) of range in five minutes of charging, making them twice as fast as Tesla’s superchargers. BYD plans to roll out a network of 4,000 of these “flash-charging” stations across China.
